Midwest Ltd., founded in 1981, began with a focus on natural stones, particularly Granite, and has grown into India's largest producer and exporter of Black Galaxy Granite and one of the largest in Absolute Black Granite. With over four decades of experience in mining and processing, we continue to provide high-quality natural stone products across 17 countries.In recent years, we have expanded our portfolio to include precision cutting tools through Diamond Wire manufacturing and commenced operations at our Quartz processing plant. Additionally, we have ventured into Heavy Mineral Sands, securing licenses for exploration and currently awaiting mining licenses to begin operations. While maintaining a strong presence in natural stone, Midwest continues to explore opportunities in advanced material processing to address the evolving demands of global markets.

History

A Legacy of Transformation

Founded in 1981 in the granite-rich lands of Southern India, Midwest began its journey as a natural stone company specializing in Black Galaxy Granite. Over the decades, Midwest has continuously adapted to industry demands, expanding into advanced materials processing while embedding sustainable practices into its operations. Driven by Experience

Midwest’s leadership oversees a team of 1,232 personnel, including geologists, mineral processing and production engineers, geophysicists, mine planners, and support staff, working collectively to achieve operational efficiency and sustainable practices.

Kollareddy Raghava Reddy

Founder & President

With more than four decades of experience in the mining and natural stone industries, K Raghava Reddy leads Midwest Ltd. as the founder and one of the promoters of the company. Recognized as a visionary entrepreneur, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree from A.P. Agricultural University, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad.

Mr. Duvva Pavan Kumar,

Independent Director

Mr. Duvva Pavan Kumar has been an Independent Director of Midwest since September 2024. He holds a bachelor’s degree in law from NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, where he was awarded two gold medals for ‘Best All-Round Student’ and ‘Best Student in Corporate Law’. With over 20 years of experience in the legal field, Mr. Kumar has been a practising advocate for 21 years. He has been associated with esteemed law firms such as Amarchand, Mangaldas & Suresh A Shroff & Co. in Mumbai and Trilegal, before founding The Law Chambers in 2017. His legal expertise ensures Midwest's adherence to top regulatory standards.

Ms. Smita Amol Lahoti,

Independent Director

Ms. Smita Amol Lahoti has served as an Independent Director of Midwest since September 2024. She holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Commerce from the University of Pune, where she graduated first in her class and earned several prestigious accolades, including the ‘Institute of Chartered Accountants of India’ prize and the ‘Anant Rangnath Kanade Memorial’ prize for excellence in advanced accountancy. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Ms. Lahoti has over 25 years of experience in accounting and has been associated as a partner at M/s. Muttha & Lahoti, Chartered Accountants, since 2005.

Mr. Rana Som,

Chairman & Independent Director

Mr. Rana Som serves as the Chairman and Independent Director of Midwest. He holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Arts (Economics) from the University of Calcutta, alongside a Post-Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management from the National Institute of Personnel Management. Mr. Som brings a wealth of leadership experience, having previously held key positions at Hindustan Copper Limited, NMDC Limited as Chairman and Managing Director, ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India, and Essar Steel Minnesota LLC. His strategic insight continues to guide Midwest’s growth and governance.

Mr. Kollareddy Ramachandra,

Whole-time Director & Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Kollareddy Ramachandra has been the Whole-time Director and Chief Executive Officer of Midwest since April 2004. With over two decades of experience in the mining industry, Mr. Ramachandra plays a pivotal role in leading the company’s operations, including government liaison, cost optimization, resource management, and customer strategies. Under his leadership, Midwest’s profit after tax saw a remarkable 49.50% growth between Fiscals 2022 and 2024. He holds an Advanced Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering from Priyadarshini College of Computer Sciences and has served as a director on the board of NSPIRA Management Services Private Limited.

Mrs. Uma Kollareddy,

Whole-time Director

With a strong foundation in investment banking and business strategy, Mrs. Uma Kollareddy has been a Whole-time Director at Midwest since December 2022. She began her career with Bank of America Securities in New York, working in the Fixed Income Derivatives and Trading Division. Since joining Midwest in 2009, she has spearheaded business strategy, joint venture negotiations, and fundraising initiatives. Mrs. Kollareddy is an alumna of Columbia University, holding a Master’s in Financial Engineering and an MBA. She has been conferred the 'Distinguished Alumni Award' by her Engineering college. Her leadership extends to her role on the Investment Committee of T-Hub, Telangana’s Startup Fund, and as an independent director at Awaze Limited.

Mrs. Kukreti Soumya,

Whole-time Director

Mrs. Kukreti Soumya has been serving as Whole-time Director since 2012, bringing over 12 years of experience in the mining industry. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Osmania University. Mrs. Soumya has been instrumental in developing technology and research initiatives for Midwest and was a key figure in establishing the company’s diamond tools manufacturing operations in Sri Lanka. Her strategic initiatives have enhanced the backward integration of Midwest’s mining operations.
